Dear Music Enthusiasts, it is with great pleasure that I present to you the collection "Carols for two cellos"- a study aimed at filling a gap in the educational market of cello music.

This collection has been specially prepared for beginner cellists, offering them the opportunity to play music together and develop their skills in the company of a second cello. The publication features a selection of the most beautiful traditional Polish carols arranged for two cellos.

The first voice is dedicated to the beginner, facilitating his or her first steps into the world of the cello through simple yet beautiful and yet familiar melodies. The second voice, which can sometimes seem more challenging, can be performed by a teacher or another cellist, for example. Together they create a fuller harmonious sound, so that carols can also be successfully performed where piano accompaniment is not possible.

I have made an effort to ensure that my study also has a didactic value. Carols, which are an integral part of Polish tradition, are excellent material for learning and developing playing technique. By performing these pieces together, beginner cellists will be able not only to improve their performance skills, but also to develop their ability to make music as an ensemble. All the carols have been developed so that they can be performed using only the first position (carols 1-9) and extended position (carols 10-15). The exceptions are "Wise Men of the World" and "Silent Night" (the only non-Polish carol), where you will need to use position IV (or other- variations of fingering are given), which is most often introduced as the second in the teaching process. I hope that "Carols for Two Cello" will be a source of musical inspiration and joy in making music together for both beginners and more experienced cellists.
